Your privacy is the foundation of FreeDocToPDF ("we", "us", "the Service"). This policy explains, in plain language, what data we handle, why, and the strong steps we take to protect it. By using freedoctopdf.com, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Files you upload

When you use a tool, your file is sent to our server only to perform the conversion you requested. We treat your files as follows:

• For most tools (merge, split, rotate, compress and sign), your file is processed entirely in memory and is never written to our disk at all.
• For the few tools that require it (Office↔PDF conversion and OCR), any temporary working file is kept on a RAM-based scratch area and erased the instant the job finishes.
• We do not open, read, analyse, or index the contents of your documents.
• Your converted result is deleted immediately after you download it, and also the moment you close the tab.
• Anything not downloaded is deleted automatically within minutes by a continuous cleanup process.
• Files are handled in isolated sessions with unguessable random IDs, readable only by the application.
• We never copy your files to long-term storage, backups, or any third party.

2. Information we collect automatically

Like most websites, our servers and analytics tools collect limited technical information to keep the Service running and secure:

• Log data such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. This is used for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate statistics.
• Usage analytics (for example, via Google Analytics) to understand which tools are popular. This data is aggregated and not used to identify you personally.

3. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies. Essential cookies make the site function and remember your cookie choice. With your consent, we also use advertising and analytics cookies. You can accept or limit these through our cookie banner at any time. For full details, see our Cookie Policy.

4. Advertising

FreeDocToPDF is free because it is supported by advertising, including Google AdSense. Advertising partners may use cookies to show relevant ads. These partners operate under their own privacy policies. We do not share your uploaded files with advertisers — ever.

5. How we protect your data

• All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS.
• Most files are processed in memory and never touch our disk; temporary working files for other tools live on a RAM disk and are wiped immediately.
• Files and folders are owner-only on the server and are never web-accessible.
• Uploaded files are validated by content (not just file name) to block disguised or malicious files.
• Strict file-size limits (10 MB), per-operation file caps, and request rate limits guard against abuse.
• Our processing API only accepts requests from our own site, blocking outside scripts and bots.
• Automatic deletion ensures no document lingers on our servers.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Because we deliberately collect almost no personal data and store no files, there is usually very little to act on — but you can contact us any time at support@freedoctopdf.com to exercise these rights.

7. Children

FreeDocToPDF is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
